"This recording was made soon after my first song recital as a mezzo-soprano in New York... I prepared it with a great deal of love and care, remembering the great diversity of repertory that I, as a very young singer, had heard programmed by great recitalists. As it turned out this would be the only song recital I ever recorded commercially. The original LP could not contain everything I sang in the concert. I am pleased that this recital is being issued in its entirety after all these years."
