For the Summer Night Concert of 2022, Andris Nelsons and the Vienna Philharmonic have assembled a programme emphasising Europe’s cultural cohesion and rich musical traditions. Nelsons, a conductor born in Riga, the capital of Latvia, and Gautier Capuçon, a cellist from Chambéry in France, are both giving their débuts in the Summer Night Concerts, but they have been associated with the Vienna Philharmonic since, respectively, 2010 and 2015.
