Biography
“You have the best voice if you feel singing inside.”
The Polish-American pianist Arthur Rubinstein (1887–1982), especially renowned for his Chopin interpretation, ranks among the top few pianists of the 20th century.
A child prodigy who impressed Joseph Joachim in his youth and debuted with the Berliner Philharmoniker at 13, Rubinstein lived in many European countries as well as California. His rich, lyrical playing style was perfectly suited to a broad repertoire, from Mozart to Falla and Szymanowski.
