Biography

“The most important thing to do is really listen.”

Itzhak Perlman has been one of the world’s leading violinists for many decades. He was born in Tel-Aviv in 1945, and at age four polio left him permanently disabled – yet he became a child prodigy, and shot to stardom in his 20s alongside luminaries including Pinchas Zukerman and Daniel Barenboim.

He is closely associated not just with the standard concerto repertoire, but also with the Theme from Schindler’s List, written for him by John Williams.
